Let’s be honest, your purse is more than a container for your essentials. It tells a story — about how you move through the world, what you prioritize, and maybe even how others might best engage with you (if they’re paying attention). Even its contents reveal information about you!
Take mine, for example.
My everyday purse is a light-colored leather — nothing flashy, but clean, simple, intentional, more of a wallet than a purse. It’s small and tidy, just big enough for the basics: a few cards, some cash, a handful of coins. The cards are grouped by category (for real): IDs on one side, debit and credit on the other. Cash is split up — larger bills in one section, smaller ones in another — and yes, they’re all facing the same direction.
It has a thin, long strap. I wear it diagonally from right shoulder to left hip, where it rests a bit more toward the front — and depending on where I am, my hand might be resting gently on it. Not because I’m worried, but because it’s mine, and I know where it is.
If you saw me in a store, you might guess I like things a certain way. That I prefer calm over chaos. That I keep what I need and don’t carry more than necessary. You might even notice the posture of someone who values safety, order, and maybe a bit of quiet observation.
And you wouldn’t be wrong.
Our bags — whether bursting at the seams or minimalist and clean — reflect something deeper than just style or function. They’re a picture of our inner world, carried around with us on errands, adventures, and every ordinary moment in between.
